How Does the Acquisition of 18 Clinics by PureHealth’s Ardent Strengthens Its US Presence?

Highlights
  • PureHealth’s Ardent expands strategically in the US with the acquisition of 18 urgent care clinics
  • Clinics located in New Mexico and Oklahoma strengthen Ardent’s regional presence in key markets

PureHealth Holding, a leading healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East, announced a strategic expansion by its affiliate, Ardent Health, with the acquisition of 18 urgent care clinics across the US.

According to a press release, the medical facilities are strategically located in New Mexico and Oklahoma, further cementing Ardent’s footprint in key regions.

The clinics were acquired from NextCare Urgent Care, aligning with PureHealth’s bolt-on acquisition strategy, aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility on an international scale.

The new additions include six clinics in New Mexico, operating under the Lovelace Health System, and 12 in Oklahoma, managed by Hillcrest HealthCare System. These facilities significantly bolster Ardent’s ambulatory care operations, enabling the group to cater to a broader patient base in high-demand US markets.

This development follows Ardent’s earlier acquisition of nine urgent care centres in East Texas and Topeka in 2024. The latest expansion positions PureHealth to deepen its presence in mid-sized urban areas across the US.

Marty Bonick, CEO of Ardent Health, emphasised the importance of this milestone, stating, “Expanding our urgent care network marks a pivotal step in our mission to build a patient-centric healthcare ecosystem tailored to the needs of the communities we serve.”

Bonick also noted that the expanded network strengthens Ardent’s capacity to manage patient flow within clinics and emergency departments while introducing new patients to its comprehensive care ecosystem.

Notably, Ardent achieved a successful IPO in July 2024, signaling the financial and operational value unlocked since PureHealth’s investment in the company in May 2023.

Ardent Health reported USD 1.45 billion in revenue for Q3 2024, reflecting a 5.20% year-on-year growth, alongside a 6.40% annual increase in admissions during the same period. Meanwhile, PureHealth, listed in the UAE, recorded impressive financial results, posting a net profit of AED 1.43 billion (USD 389 million) in the first nine months of 2024.
