Digital Health Expansion in KSA and UAE
McKinsey conducted a survey involving 1,400 consumers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, unveiling a keen interest in digital health services. The survey suggests that digital health solutions could aid medical professionals to handle chronic illnesses, diagnostics, and preventative care. With effective management, the digital health market in these regions is anticipated to reach a value of USD 4 billion by 2026.
Four Consumer Behaviour Trends
1) Established digital-health technologies like e-pharmacy and teleconsultations are widely recognised. Online pharmacies are commonly used to provide digital health solutions in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE, with fitness apps coming up next.
2) 64-87% of digital health app users prefer to utilise these applications for prolonged periods. It indicates high user retention for adopted solutions.
3) Consumers adopt digital health tech for convenience. A quarter of consumers were influenced by the value and cost of digital health solutions.
4) Most nonusers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE want to try wellness apps, online pharmacies as well as fitness or health management apps.
Conclusion
The healthcare sectors in the UAE and KSA are swiftly transforming, propelled by the government’s dedication to delivering exceptional services. A focus on preventive care, rising demand for digital health services, and widespread technology adoption present substantial opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs, and healthcare professionals. Strategic investments and partnerships position the healthcare sector for significant growth in the coming years.
