TetraSOD to Support Cellular Health

TetraSOD to Support Cellular Health

Highlights

  • TetraSOD is a bioactive supplement that acts as an indirect antioxidant, supporting cellular health
  • It enhances cellular antioxidant mechanisms, reducing oxidative stress markers like oxidised LDL, malondialdehyde, and static oxidation-reduction potential post- supplementation

Cellular health is a growing field of study, as it is the foundation of overall health. Cells are the fundamental unit of life, responsible for all processes, tissue formation, organs, and systems. Stress can compromise cellular health, but stress-reducing activities like a balanced lifestyle and proper nutrition can improve it by influencing key factors for cellular homeostasis and function.

TetraSOD – Cellular Health Promoter

  • TetraSOD, a marine ingredient derived from Tetraselmis chuii, is produced using a patent-protected technology by Fitoplancton Marino, L.
  • Has a high Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) activity and an ORAC 5.0 value, making it a powerful direct antioxidant
  • Contains other bioactive components such as PUFAs, vitamins, carotenoids, polyphenols, and phytosterols
  • TetraSOD increases cellular antioxidant systems and reduces oxidative stress indicators, according to in vitro and in vivo study
  • Activates antioxidant enzymes (SOD, glutathione peroxidase, and catalase), boosts glutathione levels, and up-regulates genes involved in glutathione manufacture plus recycling
  • TetraSOD reduces inflammation by increasing IL-10 and decreasing pro- inflammatory cytokines

Nuclear Factor NRF2 and SIRT1

TetraSOD stimulates two essential proteins in human cells and tissues: the nuclear factor Nuclear erythroid factor 2-related factor 2 (NRF2) together with silent information regulator transcript-1 (SIRT1). NRF2 is essential for cellular homeostasis and the antioxidant response, as it regulates approximately 200 genes with cytoprotective activities. SIRT1, a deacetylase enzyme, is involved in several biological processes, including cellular senescence, cell death, sugar and lipid metabolism, mitochondrial biogenesis, genomic stability maintenance, oxidative stress, along with inflammation. SIRT1 deacetylates NRF2, boosting its stability, nuclear localisation, and transcriptional activity.

Stability in Human Tissues

A clinical trial study revealed that TetraSOD triggers a homeostatic response in human tissues. More than 90% of the genes evaluated showed significant up- regulation of target genes in people with low baseline expression levels. Thus, TetraSOD acts as a regulator of cellular response, increasing gene expression as needed and emphasising its importance to human health.

Functional Benefits

TetraSOD is a supplement that improves physical performance by increasing muscle strength, power, and recovery, increasing aerobic power, and reducing muscle fatigue. It also improves seminal parameters in infertile men, such as sperm volume, concentration, quantity, and motility, and lowers oxidative stress markers. TetraSOD promotes healthy ageing by promoting cell regeneration and tissue repair, counteracting antioxidant reduction, treating oxidative stress, and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
